MINI PHARMACY
(The Drug Manufacturing Unit)

The College has a Pharmacy manufacturing various types of medicines to meet the partial requirements of indoor and outdoor hospitals as well as for research purposes. The Pharmacy is attached to the Department of Rasa Shastra and is involved in practical teaching and training to the UG students and PG scholars in order to make them aware to the knowledge of preparation of Ayurvedic medicines. Much importance is attached to the maintenance of quality of the ingredients used in various medicinal preparations. GMP is followed in the Pharmacy. The medicines are prepared strictly according to the Ayurvedic methods especially those described in Bhaishjaya Ratnvali, Rasa Yoga Sagar, Siddha Yoga Sangrah, Siddha Bhaishjya Manimala, Yoga Ratnakar, Bhava Prakash, Sarangdhar Samhita, Unani Siddha Yoga Sangrah, etc. In addition, certain highly effective farmulation are also prepared according to the methods laid down in Ayurvedic Scriptures. The Pharmacy is well equipped with few modern equipments and machineries. Traditionally used equipments are available and are put to use wherever necessary in the method of preparation. Shortly a big project will be sent to central Govt. for the development of Pharmacy.

In addition to manufacturing of medicines used in the treatment of general diseases, the Pharmacy also prepares special (Research Drugs) medicines required for research purposes of PG scholars. Such medicines are prepared in the presence of the concerned research scholars so as to make them fully aware of its ingredients, the method and the process of preparation.
